December 2018 - Grant Received

In July, the City of Geneva applied for a State grant from the Environmental Protection Fund to begin to stabilize Parrott Hall. Just before the holidays began, we heard the very good news that we were awarded $400,000 in the current round of funding (with a requirement for 20% matching dollars from non State sources).   As Erin Tobin of the Preservation League of New York State  wrote “now we can roll up our sleeves”!  Well this is really good news for the holidays.

See this link for a complete list of funded projects around New York State:

The various awards to Ontario County projects, including Parrott Hall, were announced in a recent Finger Lakes Times article:

Our deepest appreciation goes to Bob Seem and Mitch Rowe (Landmark Society), for writing and submitting the grant application this past July!

The grant period doesn’t begin until sometime this summer, but we hope to begin work to stabilize the roof in the next few weeks, using funds raised in 2018.

We’ll continue to keep you posted as things progress.

Warmest wishes for a very Happy New Year.
